Christopher’s Bio

Hi,

My name is Christopher Lister, I’m 35 years old and super excited about spending another summer on my touring bike.  This years trip will take me from Chilliwack through the states of Washington and Oregon, and possibly all the way to Crescent City, CA USA.

I started cycle touring in 2006 with short overnight trips to the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island, and the Okanagan.  I bought my first touring bike in 2007, a Surly Long Haul Trucker, and haven’t looked back since.  In the summer of 2009 I cycled down the coast of California.  Starting in Oakland I cycled south to San Diego over the space of three weeks.  Apart from some chilly coastal weather the trip was magnificent and one of the highlights of my life.

I thoroughly enjoy spending time outside.  I’m an avid trail and road runner, mountain biker, skier, and love to adventure race.  One of my life goals is to cycle across Canada from coast to coast, so this trip will certainly help in that preparation.  I’m also very much interested in participating in an expedition length adventure race.  These types of races last in-excess of 5 days.

Fortunately I’m a teacher in Chilliwack and have the time to participate in trips like this, so if you have some free time this summer and would like to keep track of the group visit the blog for daily updates.

Lastly, I enjoy sharing my experiences, both positive and negative, with others, so feel free to check out my blogs.

My professional (teacher) blog can be found here: Roaming Educator

Thanks

Christopher
